Europe and the USA held the bi-annual Ryder Cup at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France. With a home course advantage it was always going to be an easier ride for the Europeans with the crowd voicing their support. After the Friday morning session however the Americans were feeling confident finishing 3-1 but by the end of the day Europe were in the lead 5-3 following an afternoon whitewash. Saturday morning also went to the Europeans after they took three of the matches finishing 8-4. When the afternoon points were shared evenly Europe went into the Sunday singles with a convincing 10-6 lead. On the final day, McIlroy and Rose were defeated early and the Americans thought they were in control but that soon faded as the colour blue began to take over the leader board. The US couldn't keep up with the stellar play of the passionate Europeans and the American superstars were convincingly defeated. (including Tiger Woods who lost all four matches) Notably, Open champion Francesco Molinari won all five of his matches. The Europeans flooded the course with emotion taking the Cup back home for another two years. They will next meet in Whistling Straits, Wisconsin.

Only one club!

If you are a professional golfer who can spend many hours each day working on your game you can improve your chipping technique with several different clubs. If you are like most amateur golfers you probably only get an hour or so to practice your game once a week. The best thing you can do for your game is to just pick up your favourite wedge, practice hard and get really good chipping with it. If you persevere you can learn to hit a wide-range of shots with just the one club, and you will gain great confidence by using it over and over.

If you want to improve your game, give us a call on 95173471 and make an appointment for a lesson with David.
